This happens pretty often and a lot of the web design projects Studio 544 works on involve re-designing existing web sites or giving them a "cyber facelift".

At the time, it was fine because the mobile responsive craze had not fully entered the picture yet and their web site served the purpose of letting people know about their services, location, specials and history.

Just walk down any city street or mall and count how many people you see texting or talking on their phones. Here are some interesting stats from Smart Insights that will help get the point across:

  • In 2012 over half of all local searches were done on a mobile device.

  • In 2014 mobile Internet usage is expected to overtake desktop usage.
  • Out of the 4 billion mobile phones in the world, 1.08 billion are smartphones and 3.05 are SMS enabled.
